Water Cooling Systems
Water Cooling – Towers, Tanks, & Chillers
Induction equipment generates a significant amount of heat, making water cooling a very important factor. Cooling the entire induction system, from power supplies to coils and furnaces, is essential to complete a well-running, long-lasting system. Ajax TOCCO can help you determine the best configuration for your equipment.

Evaporative Closed, Water-to-Water System
The evaporative closed, water-to-water cooling system is an efficient and economical water system. This system utilizes an evaporative heat exchanger and a closed recirculating loop, which prevents recirculating water from coming in contact with oxygen. This configuration reduces water consumption and prevents water quality deterioration, but has a higher water requirement.
Dry, Air-To-Water System
In a dry-type cooling system, a heat exchanger is provided instead of a shell and tube, or plate-type exchanger. The dry system has the same advantages as a closed water-to-water system with one important additional advantage: there is no water consumption. A dry-type system uses no water, however, ambient air temperatures sometimes limit its use.
Chiller
Chillers provide a compact and efficient means to remove thermal losses from a system when there is no raw cooling water available, and the use of evaporative or dry-type coolers is prohibitive. These systems have no dependency on ambient environments and can be located indoors, ideally suited for smaller systems with lower thermal losses.
