Drop Bottom Furnace
The furnace shown is an example of a DROP BOTTOM FURNACE.  Designed for heat treating purposes where a quench time of less than (8) eight seconds is required, this batch type furnace is rated for 1100° F, with a batch load of 500-1000 lbs. per hour.  The unit shown utilizes an electric heater, but gas burners can also be used.  In this installation, the customer desired a turnkey system, complete with custom quench tanks and cart, chiller, external hoist, custom racks, platforms, and full function programming and integration.  The approximate dimensions of the furnace are 26 feet long X 17 feet wide X 22 feet high.  The overall footprint of the entire system as shown, including track for the quench cart is approximately: 35 feet X 62 feet.  FECO can provide you with all or any part of this type of equipment.
